The Work Space!

My office has been the last room I have really focused on. I want it to be a room where I can get lost into work and also have it represent me and bring out the creativity. I posted almost a year ago about how it was my next project but of course time got away from me!

I changed up a few things from that previous post.

Flower Filled Weekend!

It was so beautiful this weekend, it was great opportunity to start planting in our yard. We have No Flowers! We have a blank canvas so we bought a lot of color to add to our yard and beach grass for our Fire Pit area! We are still planting as this week goes on hopefully I can get some pictures up!

What Paint Can Do!

We all have furniture in our homes that we put away and say we will one day use it. We just cant seem to throw it away. Well I have a couple of items that I use but hate the color of them or just want to change them. One item I worked on this past weekend was end tables in the guest bedroom. They were so wrong for the room in the color they were in so I lightened them up a little.

Its the Kick off of Summer! We decided to throw a BBQ any excuse to do decorating right?

Nursery Update!

A few months back I put up 3 choices for a nursery that I would be designing. The Parents to Be decided on this one!  When designing a room there will always be pieces that will be switched, either the client did not like all of the times in the inspiration board or price, and  items availability  all play a role in why we switch some of the items up.We are almost complete with the whole room! Here is some photos of the process.

I have been MIA! I have not mentioned here on my blog yet that I recently began a new job as a Visual Merchandiser at Peter Andrews! (Home Store on Long Island). I have been very busy there and loving it. But with that being said I have not had much time to sit down and blog. I am working on becoming more organized as the weeks go on. My weeks are flying by and I am always changing and moving furniture and accessories through their store. Its a dream job to do this all day! In the next few weeks I will share some of the rooms I have put together for them. If you live on island or visit here frequently you must visit a Peter Andrews their home furnishing are beautiful and for every style home. Its hard to go there everyday and not purchase everything!


With a new job, I  hardly worked on any projects these last few weeks. With the weather being so perfectly lately I am determined to work on our yard. Who says you can't decorate outside too?!

We are looking to redo an area with a fire pit. Here's what it looks like now and some inspiration pictures for what we want to add.

What a Weekend!

This weekend I can honestly thank god its over! I am sure my husband feels the same. We worked all weekend on our home, Not only the inside but outside as well. First thing I redid the legs on my living rooms chairs. When I purchased the chairs I  planned on changing the color of them and I finally had the time and product!

And then we went outside!

Last and most important! I stenciled our office floor! It was an all day process between painting the base color and and just prepping but doing the stencil in this room took a little over an hour. 

Now time to fill this room up!

Its April and Easter month! This is our first Easter in our home and I am already going crazy with decorating. I went for a Alice in Wonderland look for my Easter decor. Moss, teacups, floral, and many bunnies. Here is a glimpse of what I have put together so far.

Would you buy your house?

Selling or Buying a house can be a fun experience but also a painful one. Recently I had a client ask if I could help them with getting their home selling ready. I am not a home stager and  as a decorator I have a different approach to make a house a home not to sell it. When approached I gave the client this question "Would you buy your House?" its something that you would take the time look at your home. What was done what needs to be done and is there something in your home that would turn you off if you were purchasing. Simple changes that can make your home more appealing is painting your walls more neutral colors rather than the reds, blues, greens. Declutter your rooms and make them more viewing friendly. It should be setup for move in ready.

Hello Spring

Its officially Spring.. If only the weather knew that! It is always a good thing to have fresh flowers around your home and nothing beats Spring flowers.  This time of year I love to have tulips around the house....

Budget Friendly!

We always want to redo a room but either timing is not right or our budget is just too small. When assisting clients with a room we like to keep it budget friendly. Here are some way to update a room with little time and a little budget.

Change the lighting
Add a lamp or change out lamps

A Throw/Blanket on to a piece of furniture
When adding this make sure it has a vibrant color for the room and/or a pattern that will change up the look of the space

 Wall art
There is some many times I go to a home and the walls are blank!!! Walls always need some good pieces on them. (I love to buy wall art from Etsy!)

Area Rug
Always have an area rug in room with no carpet! it not only defines your space, but gives the room extra warmth and pulls it all together.

Simple changes that can cost less than $200 is just the start to having a room that you want.

I have the pleasure of assisting my sister with another nursery for her 2nd daughter that is due in June!
 Nurseries are so fun to design there are no limits.  We wanted to keep it different from the first room and also that each girl has a different style. She is still deciding her final colors but this is a room a I put together as an option. Keep following to see what the space will be!

Stencil Ready!

Well the room is stencil ready! After priming the floors so they can have the first coat of paint applied , I received the stencil this week and hopefully it will be done ASAP!

Privacy Please

Window Treatments for some is dreadful to think about it.  We can help that painful process with what treatment goes where and whats fits the room. I am particular bias to panels for mostly any room except bathrooms and kitchens. My reasoning is they are great to dress up any room and something to add to your walls next to windows or sliding doors and also they can come to a close for privacy.

What to Do on a Snow Day?!

Its another Snow Day here in NY. Although I dislike sitting in the house all day , it is great to look around the home and make some changes to rooms. Our office is still in the process of being worked on so while we wait for some materials to finish that space, I am moving on to organizing my spare room (aka wedding things). We have a spare room where we took everything from our wedding and put in in there. BAD IDEA!! So today I will be going through it all and making my spare room into my own little reading room….. This will be done slowly but cleaning out the room is just the beginning!!

Always have Crown

Many homes struggle with moulding especially crown moulding. I strongly recommend main rooms if you can afford to put crown moulding in them that it be put up. It makes a huge different in the appearance of the room that many home owners don't believe until they do it. The choice between styles is the tricky part. If you have a small room go simple not too thick down the wall, a larger room can handle thicker moulding.  Here are some moulding options.
