Not sure you need an area rug? Here are some spaces that if wood floors are exposed an area rug can be placed

1.       When defining your living space
2.       In a bedroom
3.       Under dining room table
4.       Foyer
Larger common sizes are: 6'x9", 8'x10'- Used for Living Room, Dining room Areas
Smaller common sizes are 2'x3', 3'x5' and 4'x6' –Used for Bedrooms, Foyer areas
