It has been the craziest and most exciting month of our lives. Motherhood is everything people told me and so much more. We are finally getting into a little routine but it changes every other day, I wanted to get back at the blog for sanity reasons but also I have missed doing what I love when I have some downtime. I never officially posted his nursery and everything that we finished leading up to the actual day he arrived.(whoops).

Update!
A few posts back I talked about the window treatments for the nursery and my new love for the natural bamboo look. Both curtains and shades arrived and definitely completed the room. I absolutely love how it came out. This was such budget friendly purchase which makes me love it even more!

Treasure Complete
I got my chair back and it is the perfect fit for the nursery. I chose a neutral fabric so I can use the chair in any room after it leaves the nursery. May regret that after a baby been near it!

A Little Celebration!
This week we celebrated being Home Owners for 3 years! Wow time definitely goes by fast. I went back and looked at what the house was before we made it ours. It really is crazy how much work you can put into a place and still have a list that goes on. I think we updated every room except of course the kitchen that is on my BIG list of TO DO! As much as a headache all renovations are, I love the way it all came out and have a story to go along with each room and the bumps in the road we overcame to get it the way it is.

Oh Pinterest!
Of course +Pinterest is the best thing to look at while you are wide awake at 3:00 am. I pin like crazy these ideas and think I will one day do them. So of course now Easter is around the corner I love all the ideas they have for centerpieces and the fresh flowers. Spring is here! I always see such fun ways to display flowers and I never follow through. I finally found one I want to give a try. If you don't see a post on them.. we will ignore this post! :)

Window Treatments
Window treatments have become a favorite of mine for a room. I do not know why but I love when I see great window treatments and it makes a difference for a room. As I am going through what window treatments I want to add to the nursery I wanted something fun and different and I always wanted this look in a room in my house but it but never went for any of the spaces. I have the white bamboo shades in our bedroom and I can not say enough how much I love them. I wanted a similar look for nursery but a more natural look. I finally put it together and made some purchases with hopefully some time to spare!

Down to the Very Last Detail
I am sure I'm not the only one who needs the hardware finish to match in a room! I am not a matchy matchy designer but one thing I feel strong about is the finish of your hardware matching. The bathroom is where this mistake is made most often from the faucet to toilet paper holder to the toilet handle. I had an issue when I ordered the dresser for the nursery and the hardware was silver..ahhh I'm doing gold! So of course I'm on the search for hardware that matches all the gold accents. Almost narrowed it down!

Sneak Peek!
I am slacking with my posts! I have been preoccupied with finishing some last minute things before our baby boy arrives! His room being one of the things to complete. I still have a few add- ons before the big reveal but this was installed this weekend and I can stare at it all day. I wanted a conversational piece in his room, I made the light the piece to be talked about.

Treasure
Finally a chair that was picked up off the streets by me with the help of my mother 3 years ago is getting a make over. It just so happened the owner of it was bringing it to the curb as we drove by and someones trash is another ones treasure (Sometimes). I could not let this chair go so we grabbed it. I always said I will reupholster it some day. Well today is the day! This chair has traveled from room to room in my house having everything just thrown on it. I decided it would be a neutral chair for anywhere in the house first stop the nursery. Its a Good Day!

Does it Make a Difference?
Crown Moulding its a wonderful thing to add to a room but for many not the easiest to install. We came to this bump in our road with the nursery. We have crown moulding through out the house but obviously left some spare bedrooms without since it can add up in the beginning of house renovations. Now that we are putting the room together for our new family member there was no question his room would have crown moulding. My husband has been working on putting up the crown molding with no shortcuts and the occasional question of does the room really need it? YES! If you don't have crown molding up I honestly suggest looking into it really does make a world of difference to any room. Of course its not cheap and not easy to install. But with a lot of patience and some time our nursery has crown molding and it really does look amazing! I think my husband is getting more and more into home design uh oh! With that being said he shouldn't have done such a great job I have (3) more rooms that need it! Here is a glimpse.

Weekend Love!
Since my weeks are slowly dwindling down to D- Day! I wanted to finish up some of the projects that have fell off the To Do list for me. I recently had to rearrange some rooms in the house for our newest member, but that's not always easy. The office became our dumping ground and its just keeps piling up! I want to at least try and keep it organized. Since my last post on organization I have to say I have kept up with it not to the fullest but almost! (its a start.) I found these great finds at +IKEA USA and they are the perfect fit for the room. I wanted to keep it all neutral in color and a clean look since the room is so packed with things. Loved adding a plant stand to bring some life into the room!

Inspiration!
We sometimes need a little inspiration to get us going on a project , out the door or whatever it is we need to do . I love designing and making rooms pretty but it does not always come so easy to me with certain rooms. The nursery still is my biggest trouble project in our whole house. (8 weeks to go). That being said I do love my self a good book. I have read these books below and even passed them along so others can get new ideas and inspired. If you are in the middle of redecorating or even want to change up a room check out these books!

Love Grows
February a perfect month to talk about LOVE. I recently did some rearranging in our home I think some call it nesting. I am on 32 weeks of pregnancy and just can't seem to stop moving or organizing things that are in my line of sight (not always good). I purchased a sign from +Etsy that I have always loved and definitely felt it would be perfect for our home. Once it arrived it inspired me to change up our family room wall and make it about our home, I made the longitude and latitude sign (snow day project) but the piece that put it all together was when we closed on our house, the first owners gave us the original blue print of the home. This blue print showed it was a farm that had sold its plots and where the house would be built, dated 1959. I was saving this piece of paper for something special and decided it belonged on display. I would say we are keeping to the request of the original owners
"Always have love in the home".
